Hello!final45

My name is Jenny Ayrton, I capture miniature worlds in glass.

Many of my scenes have a domestic twist and are directly influenced by my surroundings. I have two young daughters, and whenever possible I try to see the world from their viewpoint. I find inspiration in the mundane and overlooked; a washing line blowing wildly on the first day of spring, an unknown couple on a park bench, a door ajar giving just a glimpse of what lies within…

I graduated from Plymouth College of Art in 2012, in 2014 I was selected for the Crafts Council’s prestigious Hothouse 4 programme. My work has been featured on the cover of Craft & Design magazine, won awards at three London shows, and had a piece selected for the 2015 British Glass Biennale. I’m an associate member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen. I now sell my work through galleries, and offer a commissioning service for bespoke scenes. In addition to my sandcast work I also create fused and etched glass artworks; If you’ve always wanted to have a go then why not come along to one of my courses?!

Please do get in touch with me if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.
